You've arrived at our site so by now you've probably decided that the Ocicat is the cat for you and we're sure you're right! You're probably looking for a robust breed with a bit of an edge, a beautiful wild looking kitten, full of character, with a loving, intelligent nature who will like nothing more than to be by your side sticking it's nose into everything you do.
As we only have 2 Ocicat queens, we'll only have a couple of litters a year that'll be looking for permanent loving homes. Our kittens will be brought up in our home, used to all the hustle and bustle of daily life. They'll be used to having our other cats around and our little terrier dog. They'll be fully litter trained, well socialised, get lots of cuddles and be used to being handled so that by the time they're ready to go to their new homes they'll be confident and outgoing little characters.
Our kittens will only leave us after:-
- They've had their full course of vaccinations, which include flu, enteritis and leukaemia and will have been wormed and flea treated.
- As there are all manner of diseases, which can't be vaccinated against, we will include 6 weeks free insurance with PetPlan, which we encourage you to continue.
- Along with the vaccination certificate they will of course have their full pedigree certificate
- GCCF registration papers
- Royal Canin kitten pack
- Microchipped and registered with PetLog.
- We also aim to neuter your kitten before it leaves us as early neutered kittens bounce back quicker after surgery, have the advantage of waking up from the anaesthetic with their litter mates and coming home to mum.
- We breed our cats under the GCCF code of ethics, a copy of which will be included in the kitten pack, along with advice on settling your kitten into its new home and diet sheet.
- A favourite toy or blanket; something with a familiar, comforting scent.
- We also include a year's free membership to the Ocicat Club, offering you reduced entry fees if you choose to show your cat at the Club show in October, and a regular newsletter. Whether you decide to show your little beauty or not it would be lovely if you can come along to the show, where you'll see the most Ocicats possible under one roof, and support the club now that you're one of the Ocicat lover family!
A Final Note
You'll no doubt have a colour/gender preference but we do recommend you view a litter at least twice and come with an open mind as very often a kitten will choose you and a rigid choice of colour and/or gender might blinker you from picking your perfect little charmer.
Additional information on choosing your kitten is available from the GCCF website: http://www.gccfcats.org/kitten.html
